TheRapist

Jazz and I went to Robinsons after class. We dawdled a bit inside Book Sale and we were about to buy books when we decided to check out first if the cinemas were showing anything that we liked. We saw that The Campaign was on, Katy Perry's Part of Me 3D as well, Expendables 2, Total Recall and *drum roll please* Amorosa!

On a whim, we bought tickets for the 1pm show and we had to hurry since it was already a quarter past 1 hehe. Once inside, we were greeted by a near empty movie house HUHU. There was only 1 couple by the middle and this old lady who scared the living daylights out of me sitting all by herself at the far left corner of the place. We situated ourselves near the couple but once the guy started sending us semi-hate glares for intruding their lovefest, we moved over and placed ourselves a seat apart from the old lady. She kept chuckling at our jumpy movements HAHA.

We eventually moved to the deluxe part meaning the upper portion of the cinema after there was a tiny funny part in the movie and we heard laughter from upstairs. We gave ourselves the creeps while climbing the dark staircase hehe and when we reached the top, we somehow disturbed yet another couple. We sat behind this group of friends and all was well.

Contemplating whether or not it's time for me to get a hair cut
I'm starting to feel nationalistic hehe. After seeing Zombadings, my eyes have been opened to the beauty of Philippine films. Amorosa was such a.................creamy movie. I really appreciated the colors and the ~angles and the actors. I now admire Enrique Gil and his brother in the movie whom I failed to remember the name of. They were so good, especially Angel Aquino who is still so very pretty. The movie was really nice; I got really scared at some parts.

Lesson I learned from Amorosa tho, love your family yadda and don't ever be a rapist. Be a therapist not TheRapist.

Converse Philippines & Manila Science High School

Converse Philippines & Manila Science High School. I never thought I'd see those words together but I guess my school just has a lot of surprises up its proverbial sleeve.

5 students were tapped by Converse Philippines to paint murals outside our school to advertise their Just Add Color thing. I don't know, I found it really nice that Manila Science High School has been given this opportunity to show the world (or our part of the world at least) (and by world I mean Padre Faura hehe) that we can be artistic too.

Artists in motion. They give you their devotion~

Gab the Mum

I cooked for my family today. It made me feel really good and very housewife-y haha. I seriously hope I can do this more often and eventually, have my friends over for a full course meal hehe. I'd really like that.

Garlic fried chicken

·         2 teaspoons garlic powder, or to taste
·         1 teaspoon ground black pepper
·         1 teaspoon salt
·         1 teaspoon paprika
·         1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
·         1 cup all-purpose flour
·         1/2 cup milk
·         1 egg
·         4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded thin
·         1 cup oil for frying, or as needed

1.   In a shallow dish, mix together the garlic powder, pepper, salt, paprika, bread crumbs and flour. In a separate dish, whisk together the milk and egg.
2.   Heat the oil in an electric skillet set to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Dip the chicken into the egg and milk, then dredge in the dry ingredients until evenly coated.
3.   Fry chicken in the hot oil for about 5 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and juices run clear. Remove from the oil with a slotted spatula, and serve.

Mashed potato with nutmeg yay

·         2 pounds russet, Yukon gold, or long white potatoes
·         1 tablespoon salt, plus more to taste
·         1 cup milk, or cream
·         4 tablespoons unsalted butter
·         1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
·         1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

1.    Peel and cut potatoes into 1 1/2-inch-thick slices. Place in a medium saucepan. Cover with cold water; add 1 tablespoon salt. bring to a simmer. If using a potato ricer, fill another saucepan with water; place over low heat. Keep potatoes at a low simmer until a knife slips in and out easily. Drain potatoes in a colander. Place milk in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
2.    If using an electric mixer with paddle attachment, proceed to Step 4. If using a potato ricer, place a heat-proof bowl or top of a double boiler over a pan of simmering water. Press hot, drained potatoes through ricer into bowl.
3.    Stir potatoes with a wooden spoon until smooth, about 1 minute. Using a whisk, incorporate butter. Drizzle in hot milk, whisking continuously. Add pepper, nutmeg, and salt to taste; whisk to combine. Serve immediately.
4.    For the electric-mixer method, transfer hot, drained potatoes to bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on medium-low speed, until most lumps have disappeared, about 1 minute. Add butter; mix until blended. On low speed, add hot milk in a slow stream, then add pepper, nutmeg, and salt to taste. Mix to combine.

Cyber Hallowienerschnitzel

I love halloween but I really don't do anything to consummate my love for the holiday except to daydream and fantasize about costumes. I don't go trick or treating anymore. I used to when I was a kid but our old neighborhood wasn't too keen in celebrating so instead of candy, I usually got money hehe. I used to sulk when I was a kid because I seriously wanted candy but now the thought of getting money just by dressing up sounds so goooood. Anyhoo, I've always dreamed of going to a legit costume party with everyone all decked out in creepy/funny/amazing costumes as in strictly no half-assing allowed.

If ever no party would surface in time for this year's halloween, I'd have to settle for my cyber-halloween partying. And since it would only be through the internet, I'd have heaps of 'costume' changes hehe. So, if you're like me, just dying to dress up weirdly with the excuse that you're going trick or treating or to a halloween party, with no plans of making those dreams come true, here are some ways you could annoy the crap out of your Instagram followers.

Put on make up, sit in a corner of your room, gaze mysteriously into your camera and let a teensy weensy smirk creep in your face. Plus points for messy hair!

Go crazy with the back light feature in Photoscape and you'll get Jersey Shore-d fo sho

Pretend you just got run over by...something and pretend youre in pain

Be an egg head

Be a swirly faced ghost or like me, be a swirly faced ghost thats all 'ohmahgah im dead?'

Be a mysterious (hence you can only see the eyes) middle aged woman that has a thing for animal prints and younger men..................................
You can tuck your upper lip in and pretend to be a turtle or an animal that has no upper lip
If all else fails, do this!

Food Food Food

This weekend has had me breaking my rules and forcing me to eat like there's no tomorrow! Last Friday, we went to Molito and ate at Cafe Juanita. It was such a quaint but lovely place. It had lots of scarves and those old capiz shell windows a la Bahay ni Lola.

Hehe my dad

We ordered the Chicken Mozzarella, Beef Caldereta and the Sisig with the tofu. We all had parties in our tummy tum!!! The food was so good. I particularly loved the chicken mozzarella. The cheese seriously oozed when I cut into the chicken and the pesto was just foodgasmic.

Last Sunday, after dropping my friends off, my sister wanted to eat so we stopped over at the small Smokey's/Fruits in Ice Cream place inside BF. It was so cozy and so peaceful since we went there during the dullest part of the day so we had the place all to ourselves save for the adorable father and son duo that kept coming back for more ice cream heehee.

Strawberry Cheesecake

Vigan Empanada from the empanada store right next door!
We went home, I took a long ass nap and we heard mass. After hearing mass tho, we had dinner in this Little Chinatown thingy that we checked out before going home from Smokey's/FIC. They went there to see if they had those tikoy rolls they've been raving about. Turns out they didn't but my dad liked the place so we had dinner there.

Taro Mochi!!!!!!

Fresh Chinese Lumpia
Some soup that I forgot what its called
The place was so oriental! The left side was a convenience store filled with stuff from China.

The right side however, looked like this
