My Answer To 'What's Up?' #1..2..3..4

1.

Something has been, I hate to use this word because it sounds wild and feral than what I really want to express but, yes something has been unleashed from within me only this summer. I'm constantly craving for any form of adventure be it exploring Manila to checking out dilapidated malls. Anyhoo, my sister and I have been frequenting the nearby ukay spots in Southland since last summer and my love for thrifting has been rekindled since I have nothing better to do at home hehe and so I can be found earlier frolicking along the expanse of the Alabang Zapote Road donning a backpack waiting to be filled with my latest haul and a thirst for ransacking racks of (a. glorious b. magnificent c. rad d. mysterious) clothes.

2.
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away~ hehe jas kedeng. I had the honor of finally setting foot in not 1, not 2 but three Indian groceries all in one afternoon! Located near the Khalsa Diwan Temple in UN is the strip featuring the Indian stores that I shall now be dubbing as India Land. I have been on a quest to look for a place here in the Philippines that retails bindis after googling for online stores and finding that only people from the US and far off places are selling bindis on ebay. So yes, I got to the stores, they asked me what I was looking for and after pointing to my forehead and managing to only get out 'bind-' I was whisked off to one side wherein a box FULL of bindis lay ahead, waiting to be raped by my very eager and shaking (with utmost excitement) hands.

3.
I just wanted to include this since my hands smell like Xonrox (bleach; I don't know if only Xonrox has this distinct smell or if all brands of bleach have the same smell hehe) right now and it's bugging me a bit. I finally put my favorite pair of shorts to rest and submerged it in a bucket of water and bleach so I can have white shorts HEHE. I did this earlier right after lunch since I reallyyyyy was bored and yearned to be productive. I checked on this after dinner and since the sink wherein the bucket was located was outside my room (by the window) it was quite a struggle cos I had to go out of the house and walk in the semi-dark. It was okay tho but the thing that was not okay was while checking on the bucket, something moved nearby like on the counter...it started making tiny noises and it looked like a cross between a naked turtle and a sisiw from a balut.

4.
I screamed for my sister and she got the camera and took pictures from her place inside her room. After zooming zooming zooming, we solidified our guesses and agreed that it was indeed a kind of bird! I hastily patted my hands on my shorts and got the camera so I could take a ton of close up photos hehe it was also a way for me to get a clearer view since it was so dark I could only make out its shape. My sister called my mum and showed her the pictures and my mum called ate Joy and theeeeeeen ate Joy explained that there is a nest up on our roof and that the Momma Bird is a bit clumsy and she keeps on dropping her poor defenseless bebes.

Ate Joy as seen below had the balls to touch the baby bird hehe and place it on a rug for the Momma to come pick her up. If the Momma doesn't come back for her..hehe we'll have ourselves a new pet hehehe. I swear if she becomes my pet bird, I'll call her Birdy so I can tweet 'hehe hanging out with Birdy' or Mascara Arms because her arms look like dem Mascara brushes.

SHE LOOKS LIKE SUCH A BIRD HAHA

Revisiting The Most Beautiful Ukay Spot in the World

A few hours after GOLD, my family and I dragged our sleepy buts to our car and headed to Pangasinan for my grandmother's, uncle's, nephew's, cousin's and dad's birthday celebration. After getting a measly 2 hour slumber in the comfort of my own bed, it was no surprise that my sister and I slept throughout the 4 hour trip.  We were greeted by warm smiles and this beautiful piece of work.

:O
To kill time, we went to the amazing Wagwag ukay ukay but and on the way we passed by this uber provincial/scenic view of the tobacco plantation and so we took pictures of it and the kind man tending it.

Going back to The Most Beautiful Ukay Spot in the World felt like a homecoming of some sort hihi. The first stall thingy we went to had a huge pile of clothes that were only for P5 each!! Now that we had a lot of time on our hands unlike the last time we went there, we definitely scoured the place for treasures and boy did we find them!

This shirt has been on my mind since we last visited and when I finally made up my mind (with the help of my friends) that it isn't sacrilegious, I asked for its price and found out it wasn't for sale HUHUHU turns out the shirt was acting as their protector to ward off business bad luck

Drama mama photo
Unlike the last time we were in the area, we got the chance to explore other neighboring ukay ukay places! The other's aren't like the huge one that we love but they were good in their own ways.

Shady looking Winnie the Pooh costume hehehehe

I WAS SO TEMPTED TO BUY THAT ONE HAHAHA

WANTED TO BUY THESE TOO HAHAHAHA

We came back after eating at a carinderia on the side of the road hehe and played with the fluffy dogs at home.

Just some colorful brooms hihi

GOT THIS FOR 5 PESOS NYAHA GOD BLESS UKAYS

I bought an ice-skating dress I dont know why but it was only for P50

Velvet sweater for P50 again HAHAHAHA
AND FINALLY!! I bought a Harry Potter sweater for yep you guessed it only P50!!! HAHAHA I really really really really love ukays <3 .="" p="">

The Most Beautiful Ukay Spot In The World

I wrote a haiku about the best ukay ukay spot in the world. It goes like this:
The best ukay spot,
Wag-wag is where it is at,
I wanna live there

I apologize if my heartfelt haiku brought you to tears HAHA joke. How can I begin to describe the place? Ahh it's on the side of the road. It looks pretty normal but when you get inside it's like you got warped into another dimension or like how I imagined a gypsy bazaar would be like. It was messy, but it just added to the beauty of it. Imagine there are 2 sides filled with thrift stuff then there's this cave thingy at the far end and when you enter it...ta-da! A buttload of ukay stalls still! It seriously overwhelmed me.

Crying

It was my first time to be in an ukay ukay that sold toys and books and board games and cds huhu

The place smelled like fried fish/sinigang which was so cool cos it made feel all patriotic and not to mention very very hungry hehe.

There was this very tumblr-girl-cult-y shirt that really piqued my interest. It was in good condition and it had like fresco paintings all around and it had Jesus in the middle and it was sequins-y and yeah and yeah and yeah.

I cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot cannot wait to go back there!!

SVPPLY

I recently found out about this site called SVPPLY because of a blog I was reading. She was talking about how cool the site was and how often it made her covet. Thinking that she must be right about the whole thing, I decided to check it out for myself. SVPPLY blew my mind. Joke, it was okay. Its really nice tho, you can see a wide variety of stuff ranging from clothes to kitchenware. Browsing through the website gave me the odd feeling that it somehow looked like a hybrid between Weheartit and Polyvore. Needless to say, I killed a few hours just scrolling down and being awed by the pretty pretty stuff.

clockwise from the bottom left: Eye ring, Raccoon top, Open Ceremony dress, Triangle undergarments, Gameboy watch!

clockwise from bottom left: Marijuana Vans, Eyeball rings, weird gold cube-y ring, Dopium Bunker shorts, vintage turquoise Jansport backpack

clockwise from upper left: Rainbow dyed silk top, Ron Swanson keychain, snake skin shirt, Chup Cowichan socks, vintage watercolor shirt, psychedelic bear jumper

clockwise from lower left: pure black Vans, zombie lips artwork, toxic drip bracelet, Box-O-Zombies action figures, animal felt masks, Homework leather pencil cases

clockwise from left: some cutesy velvet shoes, raccoon pillow, zombie slippers, raccoon plush toy, velvet trooper hat and a maroon bustier
It was fun to look at stuff for a while but the high prices kept bothering me and it kind of fried my brain trying to convert everything from USD to PHP. Good news tho, some items are from Etsy and they're probably the cheapest from the range of items. So anyhoo, if you're bored and in dire need of something pretty to look at, go check out SVPPLY!

The Sedentary Lifestyle

Last Monday, I went to the dentist to get braces and to have an excess portion of my gums removed. It was pretty uneventful save for the times that she'd put on the molar ring thingies which hurt so badly and because of the anesthesia, I didn't feel anything while she was hacking off my gums. The unbearable pain hit me about an hour after I got home when the anesthesia finally wore off. I couldn't open my mouth fully, wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything hot for 48 hours, couldn't really smile without feeling like my mouth was gonna be ripped apart and I couldn't chew or bite anything.

Yogurt that I tried to like.....

I liked the color tho hohoho
Tuesday was painful, I had a fitful sleep because the pain kept on waking me up so I was pretty crabby the whole day huhu.

Wednesday, I went back to the dentist to get my splint which looks like a retainer. I was told to use it until I get braces for my lower teeth next Tuesday. The application didnt hurt much, but I almost died when she applied this antiseptic thingy to my wound and maaaaan was it painful. Good thing about that day tho was I asked my dentist if she could give me a better painkiller since I was pretty much immune to Biogesic. She suggested Tramal since it doesnt have both Ibuprofen and Mefanamic. It's way expensive but my mum's officemate told her that it seriously works and it could knock you out. I was ecstatic! I prepped for bed and popped 1 Tramal and watched Dawn of the Dead (2004) with my nephew and my sister. Halfway through the movie, I was feeling woozy and very sleepy but I couldn't and wouldn't sleep because it's been a while since I last saw Dawn of the Dead. So I stayed up to finish the movie and woke up the next morning having an attack of the worst cramps ever.

I felt like this
(c) Dawn of the Dead production people
I didn't expect anything remotely exciting to happen today, after my painful bout with cramps (seriously, I seemed paralyzed earlier this morning), I planned a day of catching up on my beloved TV shows. I was actually watching an episode of Misfits when our maid came inside the house with a package in her hands. I was quick to my feet, grabbed it and went to my sister's room to show her hehe. It was the package from VLM yay!!! Viva La Manika is such an amazing blog by the way, it's like the love child of a hippie catholic school girl and a French suicidal bad boy. Joke what haha I really can't describe it but anyhoo they also have an online shop by the same name which sells the most kick ass clothes and accessories.

Arrrr I could give Capt. K'nuckles a run for his money

This is my favorite among the stuff inside the package erggghh its so pretty
I've been feeling horrible this week. With the pain and how I look because of allergic reactions and the swelling from the stitches and I terribly missed blogging. I'm just glad that a few episodes of Misfits and a package could turn my frown upside down hehe.
