This is not how I look like right now because as I speak (type) my left jaw is swollen and my eyes are just starting to lose their puffiness hehe. I had my surgery last Saturday and I took the wrong painkillers hence the puffy eyes and as for the swollen jaw, it is because of the operation hihi 

Anyhoo, I would like to share with you guys my latest revelations. I swear I have them all the time. Some of these are from a month ago and some are from like 10 minutes ago hehe. Also, besides my revelations and epiphanies, here are some of my thoughts.

1. Yakisoba cups have drain holes. They make life easier and I had the pleasure of discovering them just recently like this school year hehehe.
2. Strawberry has got to be the best flavor in the world. Everything should have the option to be strawberry flavored. But even though I love strawberry donuts, strawberry ice cream and other strawberry stuff, I cannot for the life of me enjoy the actual fruit.
3. I can feel something dripping down the side of my throat. It may be blood because I have been talking all night and I may have been upsetting my stitches or it might be saliva. Lettuce hope for the latter.
4. I'm starting to really like shoes right now.
5. I love people. It feels like I am in a certain funk wherein I'm overflowing with care and love for everyone and I cannot and will not and should not stop my true colors from seeping out of every crevice in my body and just spread out to every single one of you.
6. I just had to use the word crevice.
7. I have so much plans and itty bitty projects in mind for this summer and I hope I can do them all.
8. I love India so much. I don't really know where this lovin' came from but I seriously cannot stop it. I am in love with the people, the culture, the religion, the history, the food, the festivals! Someone should stuff me inside a box and ship me to India.
9. People should enjoy this summer break hehe. People should unwind. People should forget their problems for a while and enjoy life. Enjoy the intense heat, even! Kasi, imagine you're in the middle of your living room and you're sweating like there is no more tomorrow, instead of whining about it (I am guilty of this hehe), why not stick your tongue out at the humidity and work out? You not only benefit from it because you become fitter, but you're making do with what you're being dealt with hehe. This is as deep and philosophical as I can get hehe.

& Of The World

Last week had me finally visiting my dentist after a gajillion years, catching up on my cross stitching and watching The Munsters causing me to broaden my love for monsters. I don't limit myself now to just zombies, rather, I've grown fond of monsters by Boris Karloff hehe. Anyhoo, I decided to draw Uncle Herman and the classic Bride of Frankenstein, after 2 days or so of flooding people's Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feeds, I finally finished them hehe. 

All this talk of monster couples has got me thinking about the upcoming very fancy party wherein we get to dress up as...fancy people also known as our prom. I just think and wish people would just stop whining about specific venues and other pubertial stuff. What matters is if you'd have fun or not. And that would depend on your initial attitude towards the party itself. Because really, if you come to a party wherever it'd be held, buzzing in excitement then you're bound to enjoy the night lest someone pours a bucket of pig's blood all over you and your purty purty dress then you really have the right to get majorly pissed off. 

Other than that, I truly hope this year's remaining major events turn out to be magical and definitely memorable for all of us!!!!! This is the point where I get all sentimental since we only have more or less 2 months to go til the school years ends and the sweaty-palm inducing college entrance exams loom ominously and slowly inch closer. 

This is also the part where I'd end this post in a witty way 

but I really can't think of anything witty to say 

so maybe this is the price I'd have to pay.

Gab's Birthday Giveaway: The Verdict

My first ever giveaway was launched on my birthday, last December 16. I really took the time scouting for really neat things that even I had the urge to just keep them all here in my house and just forget the notion of having a giveaway. But alas, I battled it out with my greed (imagine me now on the edge of a cliff while the wind is gorgeously running through my hair with my ever trusty strings quartet behind doing their thang) and won hence, Gab's Birthday Giveaway or #gbg was conceived!

This 25th year edition of Trivial Pursuit is such a steal. Just like Superman joke HAHA. I used to have a weird obsession with board games when I was younger. I was exposed to Monopoly and such and I knew they're a bit pricey so when I discovered the cheap, often Disney themed board games that were sale for only P70 pesos so I'd buy myself a box whenever we'd visit my haven, National Bookstore.

This Universal Studios model of a mummy shows my love for monsters and puzzles hehehe. I don't know when it started but I am in love with monsters and mythical creatures that's why this is so perfect hihi it stands 8 inches tall and is well a mummy!!

Canson Watercolor Pad, 200gsm 

200gsm woopie!! It means the paper is thick. I love thick papers hehe they're my best friends whenever I'd paint. Oh and yadda yadda yadda this is included here since I love art.

 I was deprived of Lisa Frank stuff when I was a kid since the li'il bastards were pricey huhuhu!! That's why now that I know how to save money and all that jazz, I invest on me Lisa Frank goodies hihi. So if you too were deprived, this is for you!!!!!!

Salted Caramel Macarons!

I tried my hand in making macarons today! I finished all the things due for tomorrow and decided to bake. I thought it'll only take me about an hour or so but boy did it take up my entire afternoon. I really planned on making macarons since I've been itching to use the turquoise food coloring I bought on my last trip to the baking shop. We finally bought a bag of almond  meal and I was set to go.

I've heard a lot of people say that making macarons is such a tricky thing and I've always been all mehhh about it. I originally was just going to make plain macarons then I'd wing the filling but after my sister told me to make salted caramel ones, I googled an easy recipe and voila I did it.

Separating egg whites from egg yolks is so fun

They say that the key to making perfect macarons is to follow directions perfectly. So I pulled out on all the stops and used a weighing scale and a blender and used different bowls for each ingredient hehe. It made me feel like I was in a cooking show hihi.

Beating the eggs and sugar made my arm hurt. So. Mucho.

I had such a hard time with the icing bag since the hole was too small. I also burned an entire tray since apparently the fire was too hot huhu. I seriously thought the entire macaron thing would be a failure but..it wasn't!!! The two remaining trays were a-okay. They were failures but they were mine joke what HAHA. They din't achieve the whole swollen thingy and they were flat but they were so goooooooooooood.

They tasted like honey stars and tikoy and suman and like salted caramel! It was so cool since I thought the recipe I used was a dud since there weren't any salt in the ingredients but I realized that the saltiness came from the butter frosting ahhhhh. It's really good tho it's such a shame I was only able to make a few. Oh well hehe. 

Yay for masci classroom green macarons

I'll make it a point to perfect this in the coming months hehe so I can be all regal and eat mah macarons and drink tea and behead people.....................................................
