& Of The World

Last week had me finally visiting my dentist after a gajillion years, catching up on my cross stitching and watching The Munsters causing me to broaden my love for monsters. I don't limit myself now to just zombies, rather, I've grown fond of monsters by Boris Karloff hehe. Anyhoo, I decided to draw Uncle Herman and the classic Bride of Frankenstein, after 2 days or so of flooding people's Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feeds, I finally finished them hehe.

All this talk of monster couples has got me thinking about the upcoming very fancy party wherein we get to dress up as...fancy people also known as our prom. I just think and wish people would just stop whining about specific venues and other pubertial stuff. What matters is if you'd have fun or not. And that would depend on your initial attitude towards the party itself. Because really, if you come to a party wherever it'd be held, buzzing in excitement then you're bound to enjoy the night lest someone pours a bucket of pig's blood all over you and your purty purty dress then you really have the right to get majorly pissed off.

Other than that, I truly hope this year's remaining major events turn out to be magical and definitely memorable for all of us!!!!! This is the point where I get all sentimental since we only have more or less 2 months to go til the school years ends and the sweaty-palm inducing college entrance exams loom ominously and slowly inch closer.

This is also the part where I'd end this post in a witty way
but I really can't think of anything witty to say
so maybe this is the price I'd have to pay.

Hi, My Name is Gab

It was quite a lovely day earlier and I stayed holed up in my room trying to learn about Baroque architecture, Minoan civilization and other stuff for our upcoming exams this week. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts of making my window's screen invisible with my mind, I finally got up, went outside and took pictures. I took a lot of pictures of the birds outside and the plants too. I feel very......earthy.

the very girly things outside my window

the last time i took a picture of our battered washing machine was with my film cam, now that i took it with a digital one it looks very sad and very lonely as opposed to the very vintage and ~cool~ vibe that it gave off when i used my film cam

perry's face when i told him bella cheated on edward

if i were to become a motivational poster designer id put a text saying 'fly high!' HAHAHAHA

im a cliche

a quick doodle i made of pentatonix. i still havent gotten around posting an entry about my love for them simply because i still cant think of how to organize my thoughts. if i were to try writing about them now, it would be a series of exclamation points, omg's and a ton of 'ahhhhhhhhhhhh's

i was tryna draw a person but then it went badly so i turned it into a cat thingy

my project to do list from hell

Young Artists' Guild (YAG)

Jus a little sum'n sum'n

We had our club fair today. This year's event was such a breath of fresh air since it was so organized and so..efficient. I'm really giving our SSG a huge imaginary congratulatory cake for a job well done hehe. Anyway, I just wanted to share that I got elected as an officer of the Young Artists' Guild yay! I am so looking forward to this year's activities; I hope the plans that we've made can finally come true *hemhem museum visits hemhem*. I hope we can make the most out of this year! Good luck our club, which has the most flexible name ever recorded in school club history, and to all the other clubs.

The Non-Tear-Jerking Notebook

Last week while we were at the library, I stupidly misplaced my newly revived notebook. I got it from my mum a year ago and was only able to doodle once at the back part during my sophomore year and twice this school year. It's kinda creepy that I coincidentally scanned the pages that I've worked on the night before it got lost. Hmmmm foreshadowing.

First page; I really cant stray from drawing eyes

Having a zombie as a seatmate, perhaps?

Back page; was done last year he he he
I hope I can find another notebook such as this. It was really nice and I feel quite terrible that I lost it. All of the memories supposed to blablabla just fade away..all this time you were pretending so much for my happy ending. Okay, I am so sorry but that was so fun; I wonder if that's how it feels like to be in a musical, breaking into songs and all that hihi.

The Opposite of Wild

Here are just some old stuff I worked on last year that I found while looking for a piece of board to print my new name tag on. The first one is just something that I doodled while in school while the second one is the result of my failed attempt at drawing a raccoon. Instead of ending up with a bandit, I somehow turned it into a human being with a serious need for concealer hehe.

So far, this week has been Okay with a capital O. Nothing that exciting has happened yet, the most was the announcement that classes will be cut at 1pm on Friday yay. I did however finally got transferred to Journalism class tho and I brought my camera with me to school today and man did it feel weird to use it inside the campus. I'm hoping and praying that the photos don't have a green tint care of the Amadome!! Today's also Bianca Fabia the girl wonder's birthday. By girl wonder I meant annoyingly tall and has amazing hair like 24/7 ugh why doesn't your fringe get sweaty, Bianca? Huhuhu joke.

Anyway, tomorrow we have a long test in Advanced Algebra and an oral defense in Research. I need all the luck (and rest) (and duh, knowledge) I can get!!!

Ms. Pug Eyes

My first ever semi decent 15 minute drawing! I was listening to an eclectic range of music from hip hop to country while I was working on this and it felt so good. Partly because the lyrics of the songs that I listened to just appeared out of nowhere sort of like having a karaoke in my mind. I've come to terms with the fact that when in doubt I'd end up drawing part of a face hmmm.

I just realized my drawing looks a bit like a pug because of the wayward pupils hehe.

Filler

Last Friday and Saturday our internet connection got way wonky and so we were left to spend those days internet-free. Since most stores and malls were closed last Good Friday, we just went to ruins to buy a couple of dvds and to the grocery store for some afternoon snacks.

Adorable neighbor's puppy that got lost and wound up in our garage haha!

I painted and drew again after a million years. The painting was sucky at best but the sketches were somewhat okay looking. I hope. I also unearthed a bunch of my old sketchpads! The ones that I treated like a diary last summer hehe. It was so cool flipping through it, a bit nostalgic but still fun.

Florence keeping me company huhu

I took a break from all the artsy stuff and visited my sister in her lair. She's been studying like crazy for her tests but she took the time to point out that our wallpapers in our phones are so wild hahah.

l-r. Sister's, Mum's, Mine hahahah
We have our internet connection na yay. Hopefully this is the last incident for the whole vacation haha. happy Easter everyone!!!!!

Blessing/Curse

I find drawing portraits very relaxing and compared to still life, landscape and seascape, portraiture is the best for me. I like working on the details of the eyes and the hair especially but I really, really, really, really, really suck at proportions. Seriously, I'd draw famous people or just random gorgeous people from weheartit or tumblr and my drawings wouldn't look like them! It's so frustrating but at the same time, I get to create new characters which I'd consider as the bright side of my problem.

Hehehehehe I tried to draw Iwan Rheon (I used a screenshot from Misfits as a guide) and ended up with this tarsier-looking guy. I named him sausageman since I could imagine him as a sausage seller with his slicked back hair and his creepy/oily persona.

Actually, this one was supposed to be a guy haha but while I was working on it, I noticed that it was very feminine so halfway through the drawing, I changed my mind and turned it into a girl....and in the end, it turned into a sunflower.

Thor's Day

I got transferred to the drafting class I was talking about! Anyway, I didn't mean to do it but this drawing ended up looking like a Hunger Games fanart for Katniss/Gale haha.

Yesterday was such a mess! Classes got suspended at around 3 and after a while, we found out choir practice was still on. At around 5pm, my dad finally picked me up from school and told me we'd have to let the rain subside before we try to pick up my mum in Makati. He brought some slippers and this bubble wrap thingy for my huge sketchpad for drafting which we stuck underneath his shirt and jacket to keep it dry haha.

After crossing the street to get to his office, my feet and skirt were drenched! My feet felt weird so when we got to the 4th floor where my dad's office was located, I went and washed my feet. Wee. I did some of my drafting homework, sketched a bit and read a book while sitting on the counter in the girls' bathroom. We only left the office to fetch my mum at around half-past 10 in the evening. I don't really remember what happened after we got in the car because I was so tired and sleepy, I faintly recall that I was so cranky when they woke me up when we finally got home. But I do remember that I there was someone in the bathroom and I kept telling myself that I'll just take a nap on the floor while waiting for my turn to shower.

I never did shower. I know, it was gross. I slept on the floor to avoid getting my dirty clothes on my bed but I must have caved in during the night, got up, dressed in clean clothes and collapsed in bed.

HairyHairy

I love all types of hair. It amazes me how a person's hairstyle can speak volumes about their personality. I also like how there can be blondes, brunettes, redheads and multi-color haired people. It just goes to show how different we are from one another.

That's where I got this idea of mine to draw different hairstyles. I watched tons of youtube videos on how to draw realistic hair because squiggly lines black blobs got a bit old to me. So, here are the 3 types of hair that I've finished. If you have any suggestions on what type of hairstyle I should draw next, just leave a comment or something haha

Shoeses

Since we only got our internet connection fixed, the whole week was spent trying not to sweat, reading, running and drawing lovely lovely shoes.

My poor attempt at making gradients haha

Motherhugging Zombies

It's raining buckets right now! This probably is by far the coldest summer day that I have experienced in my whole life. My sister and I are all alone in our house since my parents and our maids are somewhat stranded in our new house because it started flooding. It's a good thing though that it's raining heavily since they got to repair the leaky ceilings in our house so in the future, it wouldn't bother us anymore.

By the way, today's Mother's day! Yay.  I woke up at around 1 in the afternoon because I stayed up last night finishing my mum's present and by the time I went downstairs to eat, my parents were already at 19 East -this bar that's owned by a good friend of my dad's that has the live streaming of Manny Pacquiao's fight. Pacman won; HOORAY 4 THAT!

Anyway, the lot behind our house is already flooding and since we've packed our clothes already, I can't put on a red shirt. Yes, I have a habit of thinking about the worst case scenarios. In this case, I'm thinking of putting on a red shirt just in case the flood reaches us inside the house and we'd be forced to stay on the roof. Red shirts would be seen by rescue teams on helicopters! It's too bad I've already packed my glow in the dark bracelet too :(

The reason why I'm on full survival mode is because I'm having a The Walking Dead marathon right now!

This picture just gave me goosebumps. And it's not because I'm cold!

I absoluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutely love zombies, from their gruesome appearances and even to the horrible sounds that they make, and if this post hasn't convinced you of my back-from-the-dead obsession, maybe this one will. Now that I think about it, I'm just itching to get on with watching The Walking Dead so I'll just explain in full detail

My Totally Wicked and Super Deadly Dream Zombie Killing Machine

I admit the drawing's a bit wonky haha. I've run out of blank index cards and my drawing book's far too small. Plus, the fact that I've already packed most of my art materials such as my papers and sketchbook, didn't help either so I had no choice but to draw on my sister's Math notebook.

1. That's where the 2 bazookas will be perched. I'm not really good with weapons, but the bazookas in my mind are the huge double ended one's that those big guys in action movies put on their shoulders.
2. I'll have two sniper stations on each side of the bus. These sniper stations will be the place wherein, yep, you guessed it, the snipers will position themselves and kill as many zombies as they can.
3. This is where I'll have my super strong wrestler guy that will throw out lit LPGs. I think LPGs are commonly found in filipino kitchens, I'm not sure in other countries. Important thing is that they hold gas which in turn would make them highly flammable.
4. The window that allows my trained shooters to kill zombies with their shotguns and machine guns.
5. This window acts as the bridge. It comes with a collapsible tent-like tube that allows us to break in to any store without facing the zombies outside. It's sort of like those airplane to airplane terminal connectors.
6. These slots on both sides of the bus are aligned with the average person's neck. Any zombie that will come close to the bus will be beheaded by the chainsaws that are sticking out from the said slots.
7. The little V's are actually knives. Knives that are ready to kill any dizzy little zombie that gets in the killing machine's way.

So, there you have it! While other kids my age were daydreaming about princesses and cowboys, I was assembling this totally amazing death bringer. Although, if this invention of mine fails,  I've got dibs on the Knight Bus!

Butter Braid

Look at that sexy attempt at photography

I spent the whole day cooped up again. My mum and dad were already gone by the time my sister and I woke up around noon and after lunch, our maids left as well for the afternoon to help clean the new house.

My sister and I got hungry around 4 and since there weren't any adults around, we settled on making popcorn, also because it was the only food available in the house :( We had 2 flavors, 1 butter and 1 cheese and we decided to get half of each. The butter flavored one was tasteless and the cheese flavored one was too dang salty so.... we took the free tub of lite butter that I got from the run, melted it, and poured it on our popcorn!

I didn't have anything to do so I started looking for inspiration cos I was seriously itching to draw. After a few failed attempts at drawing in my notebook, I decided on using the spare index cards that I had scattered on the floor. I ran out of ink too while working on the top half of it and I had a mini heart attack. I called my dad to go pick up some on the way home but then he told me we had a spare. Yayayay.

Sleeping All Day, Staying Up All Night

Today, or rather yesterday, was spent sleeping. Seriously! I stayed up all night last Monday that I finally went to sleep at around 5 in the morning. I woke up at 10 am because it was simply too hot. The humidity all day was really annoying, so after we had our lunch, my sister and I spent the day inside the room with the aircon on full blast. That's why, I ended up falling asleep from 2 to 5! I woke up to the shrill ringing of the telephone and after taking a shower, checking my facebook account, going to 9gag and doing some reading, I took a nap. At around 8 in the evening, my parents arrived from work, we had our dinner, mum and dad talked to me about college and while my mum was reading and my dad was watching tv, I started googling pictures of kids in weird halloween costumes when I came across a baby in a taco costume!

I just had to draw the adorrrrrable baby!

Seeing kids in silly halloween costumes is so fun. It's a combination of the cutest things in the world (kids) and stuff that I find interesting (costumes), it's just so darn perfect! Here are some of the best costumes I've seen.

This kid as Edward Scissorhands even has the pout down pat!
