An Abundance of Eyes

I've always enjoyed drawing eyes but I haven't done much eye paintings since I don't wanna make botched eyes. Almost all of my paintings have blank white spaces for eyes or if it's not of that, my painting would be of just one zoomed-in eye. I really can't paint a decent eye with a decent face. Somehow, I have to choose between painting an eye alone or a face sans eyes hehe. Anyway, I went on a painting frenzy over the weekend and painted 5 eyes in a row in just one day! It felt really good with the light coming from my window, the good music playing and just me and my brush hihi. I hope I can make super duper plenty more of these hehe enough for them to become like trading cards he he he.

Trains For May, Shaun

Hi. Today is the 4th day of my ~isolation huzzzzzah. I have done nothing but sing High School Musical songs, watch the very very educational Ancients Behaving Badly series on youtube, eat like some huge mammal (I was gonna say Mammoth but I'm not really sure if the silent beasts have huge appetites or not heh) and try not to pick my scabs. I read a comic book today, finished 4 episodes of American Horror Story yesterday making me excited for the second season, started on my projects and earlier, I challenged myself a series of speed..drawing/painting. I gave myself 30 minutes per set and after that, I wouldn't touch up or fix anything anymore.

By the way, I am seriously loving my Prang watercolor set now. I've decided to let my Winsor and Newton pocket set rest for a while since I'm running very low on the red and I made the mistake of using the mixing pallet for acrylic and now it's all crusty in a bad way and I haven't felt like cleaning it yet hehe. So I've been using Prang for a while and...I'm loving it hehe. Now that I look at it, they've got a lot in common and their differences seem to be trivial. It's just that my Prang set is bigger and has fewer colors and attracts ants. Other than that, they're quite alike.

Staying at home, surrounded by the peace that comes with a near empty house, has done something to my artistic soul. The serenity that I am feeling has touched my heart, entered my brain and is now running freely through my veins. I am slowly but surely turning into..................................................a fossil.

Cliffs of Moher

Lately, I've been exerting much effort in my artifacts since I know that I'm not very eloquent in Tagalog so I try to make up for my lack of skill through the designs yay. We were asked for our 4th artifact in Filipino to think of our own version of paradise and to illustrate it. I thought of a handful places that could be my sanctuary here on earth and finally settled on the majestic Cliffs of Moher in Ireland

I have always dreamt of having a very intimate wedding right on those cliffs with the wind blowing through my gown and my hair while an ensemble of posh cellists and violinists and other string-y instruments play in the background heehee. I imagine it to be very Irish and very...epic. On the other hand, if that doesn't happen, I can change the whole thing and I'd picture myself on top of a very beautiful horse, still on the cliffs mind you, and I'd be very medieval and stuff wee. It'd be my 'before-the-war-against-a-million-soldiers-so-its-practically-a-suicide-mission' scene.

Didn't really plan on blogging about this but ever since my sister told me that my laptop has a slot thingy for the memory card, I've been taking pictures like crazy and immediately transferring them to my laptop hehe. It's so hassle free compared to my method before which was to take pictures, get my mum's laptop, transfer the files there then either put the files in a usb or post an entry using mi mami's lappytoppy.
